What WOW readers said:
"I checked out this book because I have re-entered the practice of journaling and thought it would be a good resource for journaling topics, should I get stumped. What I found was this ended up being the perfect read before my gratefulness practice. In the evening, I would sit with this book and flip through to random pages, as the introduction suggests. I would skip past whatever didn't sit with me that evening and focus on the pieces that brought some calm to my spirit. After a few minutes, I'd open my gratitude journal and begin my lists, my body now primed to the spirit of the task.
The key to this book and others that are written for quotes and inspiration is to take what speaks to you and be careful with context. Though deep interpretation is possible, the wording of these snippets is simple and open to massively different interpretations. The same quote that engaged you yesterday may irritate you today because the meaning has shifted in your own perspective.
Overall, this is an adorable book filled with glitter. Whether you like glitter or not is up to you. For me, I find glitter has its place, and am happy to have this beautiful blue spine on my bookshelf."

"Whether you are just starting your spiritual journey or have been on it for years, you will find many nuggets of insight within this book to help you further your quest. Whichever higher power you believe in - God, Source, the Universe - you will find it referenced within these pages. This is the perfect kind of book to flip to a random page and reflect on its message, but it can also be read straight through. If you're contemplating your true purpose in life, this book will give you lots to think about. I recommend having a journal handy as you read it!"
--- Michelle Cornish
"These days especially, it is great to be able to find a little bit of positivity to focus on. This is a great book to read either first thing in the morning, to get you through the day. Or last thing in the evening, as a way to quiet your mind and relax before going to bed. Personally, I enjoyed it as part of my evening ritual to relax and reflect on the day and to end it on a positive and calming note. Great book to keep by your bedside."
---- Judy Hudgins
"I needed a resource to add to my daily self-care routine and the Universe delivered Michele’s perfect spiritual guidebook. She had me at the first chapter: Your Soul Has A Crush On You. A beautiful affirmation of my beauty, intelligence and potential."
-- Mari L. McCarthy
"This is literally a small book filled with a ton of really big ideas!
...Michele covers every aspect of life and self-care in these pieces of insight. For folks like myself who have done a lot of personal development and spiritual work, these serve as kind, loving reminders. For those who are new to the genre, these would be gentle introductions to these concepts.
I highly recommend this one for anyone looking for easy to digest spiritual guidance. I received my copy from WOW! Women on Writing in exchange for my honest review."

"In a continuous quest for self-improvement and connection with other creative spirits...In Little Book of Big Knowing, Michele Sammons has a similar message for all people, and she presents it in tiny chunks of wisdom, making it akin to a daily devotional, rather than wrapping it into memoir and storytelling.
As a lover of stories and a person who is often perplexed by abstract ideas, I missed the stories to put the lessons in context; however, this was not the point of Sammons's book. Hers is meant to provide short bursts of lessons or reminders on every page, which makes it timeless and accessible. A good introduction to mindfulness or a gentle reminder for those who are more experienced."
-- Anne Greenawalt
"This was an interesting book...I love that it was designed to be used in short bursts, with no long passages to decipher. It’s important to read the author’s note to the reader if you want to get the most out of this little book full of big things. I liked being able to skip around, and sit and meditate on the page that resonated with me that day. A great, fairly hands-off spiritual guide for anyone, regardless of where you are on your journey."
-- Liliyana Shadowlyn, The Faerie Review
"The Little Book of Big Knowing is a gem for anyone who finds value in short affirmations or meditations. From the beginning, Michele Sammons, lets you know that what she has written might not resonate with everyone, and that's OK. Find what does ring true for you! The wisdom of the words I read affirmed many of my own beliefs and thoughts. I encourage those who read this book to venture into the journey with an open heart, taking small bites of wisdom in order to let it sink into the consciousness and grow."
-- Linda M. Rhinehart Neas
"I don't know about anyone else, but sometimes, I just need a little encouragement. A little motivation to get through things. And the way things have been lately, I find myself needing them a whole lot more. That's why this book couldn't have come at a better time. It is chock-full of tasty little nuggets that can get you through the day and maybe put a little smile on your face while it's at it. I know it did with me."
-- Margay Leah Justice
"This book does what the author set out to do. It reminds me very much of the advice that you get in Jen Sincero's You Are a Badass about your Soul and your Energy and your Frequency--basically what you are putting out into the world is what you are going to get back. You have the power to change your life and make your life what you want it (most of the time).
I also like that the author writes a note to readers in the beginning about how this book should be used--it is not meant to be read cover to cover. What I decided to do was to open it and read whatever page I opened that day. This worked great. I read one page a day, and that way, I could focus on that page's message throughout the day. This is similar to the way devotional books are meant to be read.
One of my favorite pages is about all events being neutral, and that it is our perception that makes them good or bad. Oh, so true. Sometimes, an event is just bad because of the sadness or chaos that happens when it occurs, like divorce, but later on, you can look back at it and see that it was what had to happen at the time and how you have grown from it, so now it's not necessarily all bad.
I'm not a big journaler, just a reader and thinker. But I can see how you could also use these pages each day as journal prompts. The book is also very well done--nice graphic design and cover good quality. This would make a great gift for women!"

"This was such a unique read. The author does a great job of presenting this collection of really cool and inspiring ideas that can resonate with a large collection of different readers. The way the author presents these ideas too is inspired, as some readers may see the book and wonder why the author didn’t necessarily divide the book into chapters or specific sections. However, this felt like a much more intimate and personal conversation the author was having with the reader one-on-one, making these inspired bits of knowledge feel much grander in scale.
There were a lot of different ideas presented throughout this book, and the brilliant thing about it was how the author acknowledged not everything would resonate with every single reader, making the things that did feel more pronounced and important. The writing was clear and concise, as in the section that dealt with the appearance of spirituality, which really spoke to me. As a spiritual yet not religious person, it was interesting to read the idea that spirituality will not always look the same to others, whether that’s doing yoga or going to church, or just walking in nature or being at peace in your own sanctuary.
The Verdict:
A heartfelt, thoughtful, and quick-yet engaging read, author Michele Sammons’s book “The Little Book of Big Knowing” is a must-read spirituality and philosophical book. The author is memorable for writing that speaks to readers on a personal scale and presents some amazing ideas that engage readers on both a spiritual and intellectual level. If you haven’t yet, be sure to grab your copy of this amazing book today!"

"I love books like this – little gems of simple resonating words. Sometimes it's not those thick self-help books we need. Sometimes it's just simpleness. Reading what you may already know even.
A little like Sincero's You Are a Badass and Gilbert's Big Magic, you'll feel uplifted and encouraged after reading this one."

Whenever I pick up a book that isn't meant to be read cover to cover, I have to remind myself. Just a bit right now. More for later. Because I love inspirational bits and pieces, this one would be well worth picking up!
During the past year I have focused on creating a gratitude practice, and the difference in my attitude and peace of mind has been amazing. I especially like reading inspirational books before bedtime, and I think that this book would be a wonderful addition to my practice and bookshelf.
I'm really looking forward to reading this. So much is going on in my life, so much change, new paths opening looking scary and unknown, and change by itself is scary so I need all the help I can get. I really think this book will help in my life as I try to move forward through those new paths.
