Elizabeth Maria Naranjo Accepts a Contract to Publish Her Debut Novel with WiDo Publishing

Saturday, April 05, 2014
The Fourth Wall by Elizabeth Maria Naranjo will be published by WiDo Publishing this spring! Elizabeth’s story is very inspirational as it sort of began right here at WOW! when Elizabeth read Moonlit by Jadie Jones. Moonlit was also a WiDo Publication and Elizabeth was so inspired by Jadie’s work she submitted The Fourth Wall to WiDo and the rest is history.

We are getting ready to help Elizabeth with her book launch and have set a date for her WOW! Blog Tour (July 21st – mark your calendars)! Elizabeth is no stranger to WOW! and has placed in many contests and she is an absolute pleasure to work with. Her writing style is fantastic and her smile is contagious.

Congratulations Elizabeth!

For our readers, here is some additional information about The Fourth Wall and Elizabeth as well as a brief interview. Enjoy!!!

-----Interview by Crystal J. Otto

WOW: Elizabeth, you've placed in several WOW! writing contests in the past; what advice would you give other authors who often submit their work for various contests?

Elizabeth: If it’s a WOW! contest, buy the critique. I’ve learned so much from having my work professionally reviewed. Other than that, keep trying. No writing is ever wasted—you get better the more you do it. And if you don’t place in a contest, resubmit your work. Keep it out there! When a submission is pending, there’s always hope, and as long as there’s hope, it’s hard to stay discouraged.

WOW: I think the hope is what keeps many of us going. You’re right on with your advice, thank you!

What did you do to celebrate when WiDo Publishing accepted your manuscript and offered you a contract? Who was the first person you told?

Elizabeth: I had actually celebrated my birthday the day before, so there was plenty of chocolate cake on hand (smiles). I texted my husband and then channeled all the great energy and got straight to work--starting my blog and trying to make sense of Twitter. My daughter wasn’t home at the time, and I remember that I couldn’t wait to pick her up and tell her the news. She was one of my first beta readers.

WOW: MMM… chocolate cake, coffee, and the support of a good man…sounds like a trifecta to me!

You don't seem like the type to sit still for long. What's next? What are you working on now?

Elizabeth: Right now I’m camping out at Camp NaNoWriMo, working on my second book. Writing is such a solitary activity—it’s fun teaming up with fellow authors and cheering each other on. Even if our campsite is a virtual one, it works. So that’s what I’m up to, but I’m also gearing up for summer, planning this book launch. It’s exciting and scary and fun. I’m glad WOW! is coming along for the ride.

WOW: Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us Elizabeth! We can’t wait to start booking blog stops for your upcoming The Fourth Wall WOW! tour and I personally can’t wait to start reading !!!

Elizabeth has scheduled her tour of The Fourth Wall beginning July 21st – we hope you’ll be part of this exciting opportunity!
