Nicole--I think this is a great way to make lemonade out of lemons. I feel sorry for authors who had book signings scheduled, or book launches.

However, maybe everything about this time isn't lemons. Certainly, the deaths, the illnesses, the risk that essential workers face, the isolation and loneliness many people are experiencing... that's horrible. However, we're learning (or relearning) how to communicate with each other and entertain ourselves in different ways. For example, my daughter and her family are having late-night concerts with spoons and harmonicas and a cajon. They're watching "classic" movies that I've forced on them, like "Fried Green Tomatoes" and "The Sting" and "The Widow of Saint-Pierre." People who normally wouldn't touch technology are learning how to Skype and Zoom. People who haven't had the time to do certain things like flood agents with queries (names are left out to protect the guilty) now have the time.

I wish all the authors good luck. I am also doing some extra reading, and I know that once we're all safe to go to events, we'll show up in mobs to book signings and author events... because we're hungry for the experience, because wes're supportive and because we want to make up for lost time.

I wish the author
