Hello blog friends,
You can contribute to The Muffin: Fridays are "Speak Out!" days on the blog, and we love to hear from our readers. Submit a post to our ongoing guest blogger program!
Your post can be about: writing inspiration, balancing family life/parenting with writing, craft of writing fiction/nonfiction, how-tos, tips for author promotion/marketing/social media, book reviews, writing prompts, special opportunities (paying markets for writers), publishing industry news/gossip, and anything you think our readers will love.
Please make sure that there is take-away value to our readers. No press releases please. We're more interested in hearing from our core audience--personal essays and humorous anecdotes are encouraged as well, as long as they provide something useful to our audience--including a good laugh! ;)
Note: We welcome submissions from previous Friday Speak Out contributers.
How To Submit: Submit your 250 - 500 word post in the body of your email to our blog editor Marcia Peterson: marcia@wow-womenonwriting.com. Upon acceptance, we will ask for your bio, links, bio photo, and any other pictures to illustrate the article. We look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks for offering the opportunity. Do you offer any payment beyond exposure? Thanks!
Hi Lynn ~ thanks for your comment! Friday "Speak Out!" was designed as a way for our community to get to know each other, and is non-paying. FSOs explore personal essays and other types of posts we don't feature on the main site. The goal is to get to know our core audience of writers and learn about what they're up to, experiencing, learning, or feeling. Mostly anything goes, as long as it's related to women and writing.
If you are interested in freelancing and have an idea for the e-zine or even a specialized blog post--a longer how-to or hot topic type post that is better suited for the blog w/ commenting rather than the e-zine--you are welcome to check out our guidelines here (http://www.wow-womenonwriting.com/contact.php) and submit a pitch to submissions@wow-womenonwriting.com. If you are pitching to the blog, please mention that in your query. Contracted blog features are much shorter and pay less than the e-zine--in the past we've paid around $20 a post, up to $40 for a post for an interview with an industry professional, such as an agent or acquiring editor.
