With the holiday season upon us, we decided it was a wonderful time to launch another major group giveaway. The last one we had at the start of the pandemic was such a big hit, we couldn't wait to host another one. We have an amazing collection of authors and books to share with you and some amazing prizes for you to win too.
We are excited to announce our gift of reading giveaway! (#GiftofReading)
Whether you want to give these gifts as presents to someone else or keep them as a gift for yourself (hey, we won't judge) there are books in here for everyone. The giveaway is free to enter and there will be 3 winners, just like last time. The special thing is that this time everyone has the chance to enter. We are offering physical copies of books to any US winners and e-books to winners that live elsewhere. The first prize winner will receive some amazing prizes, including the $160 Amazon Gift Card, along with a Special Half-Hour Story Consultation with Now Write! Editor Laurie Lamson. By discussing your story and answering questions to help clarify what it's really about, Now Write! will identify strengths, pinpoint weak areas, and discover what you need to help your idea fulfill its potential. This process will also help you more effectively pitch your story or script to others.
To enter this giveaway, scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter the Rafflecopter form. The giveaway ends December 17th at 11:59 PM Central. We'll announce the winners the next day!

by The Reverend Canon Ted Karpf
In 1980s America, coming out as gay as a father and husband was a significant journey for anyone to make. Coming out as gay as a priest guaranteed immersion into controversy, contradiction, and challenge. This book tells of The Reverend Canon Ted Karpf’s navigation of new social and romantic journeys, all within the context of his priestly vocation in the Episcopal Church. Covering from 1968 to 2018, Karpf recounts his vivid memories, life-changing dreams and resonant reflections on living a life of faith in a socially and politically tumultuous period of history.

In this new memoir, author Neill McKee takes readers on a journey through his childhood, adolescence, and teenage years from the mid-40s to the mid-60s, in the small, then industrially-polluted town of Elmira, Ontario, Canada—one of the centers of production for Agent Orange during the Vietnam War. McKee’s vivid descriptions, dialog, and self-drawn illustrations are a study of how a young boy learned to play and work, fish and hunt, avoid dangers, cope with death, deal with bullies, and to build or restore “escape” vehicles. You may laugh out loud as the author recalls his exploding hormones, attraction to girls, rebellion against authority, and survival of 1960s’ “rock & roll” culture and emerging on the other side as a youth leader.

It's unusual to access a child's mind during the magic years of childhood; It's rarer when the child is facing her death. Liza, an ardent child with a deep love of cows and the color purple was diagnosed with leukemia at age four and died two years later in 1996. Liza was an unusually expressive child and her parents, both child psychiatrists, were uniquely oriented to appreciate the richness of a child's mind. Through writing this book, Liza's father strove to reveal the inner world of a child's mind--and a parent's mind--as few other books can. At its center, this is the story of a child's psyche growing and striving to understand all she could of her experience, and of a small family coping with life's biggest challenges. It is a story of love's power to help a family cope and endure despite loss, and to grow, through darkness, back toward a full embrace of life.
