Free Webinar Recording on Show VS Tell and Overwriting

Last night, WOW! held its first ever FREE webinar (teleseminar for those on the phone only) about show vs tell and overwriting in children's literature. I was the one who told Angela we should try this free class business, she said okay--it's something she'd been thinking about, we found anymeeting.com to use as our technology, and we went for it. And now I have to say, WHEW! It actually went okay. . .

And that is thanks to the wonderful attendees who came to the class, participated, and sent us kind follow-up e-mails afterwards. I've already said thank you a bunch of times; but really, we appreciate you immensely and are so glad that it worked out! Yes, there were a few glitches--Angela and Margo have already started discussing how to fix those for the next time; but all in all, it went well, and it seems like people learned a lot and shared with each other, too!

If you missed the class, you can still listen/watch it for free. You DID NOT have to register already--you can decide today that you want to watch/listen to it and do it. The only thing you have to do is enter your name and e-mail address to get the recording. So, here's the link for the FREE recorded class on show vs tell and overwriting: http://www.anymeeting.com/wowwriters/EC58DD878148 .

If you have any questions after listening to it, please ask them here in the comments.

The link for the dialogue tag article that is mentioned toward the end of the recording is http://www.wow-womenonwriting.com/40-How2-DialogueTags.html.  Also, if you want a copy of the slides, as some people talked about at the end of class, please e-mail me at margo (at) wow-womenonwriting.com.

We know that many of you don't have a budget to take a paid class, so we are so glad  that we could offer this free class and that it seemed to help your writing. If you are interested in taking a children's writing class or other writing class with us, we have several being offered this winter for writing for young children to adults, from fiction to nonfiction, from magazines to picture books to novels. You can check all that out here: http://www.wow-womenonwriting.com/WOWclasses.html.  Some people asked when my next class would be. I'm not sure about when we will offer another free one--although we do plan to--but my next class is an online writing workshop for children's and teen's novels starting on 1/22 and is $25 a week for a minimum of four weeks (total $100). In this class, you will get weekly critiques from me and most likely two classmates for a total of three critiques.

Thank you again to everyone! Happy writing--but no telling and no overwriting!
