At WOW!, we recognize that many writers love them, and so we decided to add a new feature to our Facebook fan page. You guessed it. . .writing prompts. This is an EXCLUSIVE feature on our Facebook fan page only; so if you aren't a fan yet, check us out here.
So, what will you find? The prompts are under the "Notes" app, which you can click on underneath our cover photo on the new Facebook Timeline page. This will lead you to all our notes, where you will find the writing prompts. We have two so far--one for a a flash fiction story and one general prompt for whatever you write. We will try to post prompts for all types of writers--novelists, short story writers, poets, and essayists. New prompts will appear each week--hopefully at least two.
Here's where you can help us and get some publicity for yourself, too! If you like to create writing prompts or want to try your hand at one, please e-mail an idea to Margo at margo(at)wow-womenonwriting.com. In the subject line, please put "Writing Prompt for Facebook." You can also include your photo, a photo of your book cover (if you have one), a link to a website and/or blog, AND a one-to-two line bio. Margo will post these in the writing prompts section of Facebook every so often with your bio information, so everyone will know who created the prompt.
Finally, we might do some super short prompts--like those 6-word ones--and ask you to post your efforts on our Facebook page. So, stay tuned. And for those of you who have been helping us with our e-book full of successful query letter examples for our Facebook fans and our newsletter subscribers, we are working hard on it!
Any questions? Let us know. See you on Facebook. . .
